Our products are authentic: owner Stephan Jennebach was born and raised in Germany and came to the United States in 1995. Having learned the craft of Baking in the "Old Country", he decided to continue his art here in his new home in Zumbrota, Minnesota. In the summer of 2011, he built a wood-fired brick oven in his backyard and started producing hearty, healthy and wholesome breads for his customers.

 

Our Bread

Whole Wheat Flaxseed

Made with freshly milled organic hard red spring wheat, combined with the flavor and wholesomeness of organic flaxseed and organic chia seed, this bread combines the health benefits of “good carbs” with the added punch of fiber and date fines. Especially helpful where added fiber might aid the digestive process. Free of any dairy products.

Ingredients: Freshly Milled Organic Wheat Flour, Water, Organic Flaxseeds, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Gluten Flour, Date Fines (w. Dextrose), Salt, Yeast.

Whole Wheat Sourdough

Bread in its purest form: nothing but freshly milled organic red hard spring wheat, organic rye sourdough starter, water and salt. The power of sourdough starter is all that’s needed to give this flavorful bread its taste and volume. Baked in the tradition of many German breads, this one embodies simple flavor balanced with nutritional benefits. Free of any dairy products.

Cranberry-Walnut Sourdough

Cranberry-Walnut Sourdough quickly established its place from a seasonal favorite to a year-round delicacy. Freshly milled organic red hard spring wheat and just the right amount of sourdough starter, combined with tangy cranberries and the crunch of walnut halves give this bread all it needs to become a favorite on every dinner table. A thick slice, covered in butter, with a bowl of soup turn a cold winter day into a feast of the senses. Free of any dairy products.

The ideal base for a light sandwich, pizza baguettes or garlic bread, this bread also has enough flavor to hold its own. Dip a slice in some olive oil, or just spread some butter on it for a delicious appetizer or party snack. The very basic ingredients of flour, water, salt and yeast develop a flavor combination that is sure to satisfy your taste buds. Free of any dairy products.

Asiago Cheese

Based on our French Bread recipe, this one adds hand-grated Wisconsin-made asiago cheese to create a feast for your taste buds. Loved by kids and adults alike, Asiago Cheese Bread may be eaten plain as a snack, sliced for delicious sandwiches, or used as a side for stews and soups.

Onion

French Bread with a twist: the added oven-roasted onions make this bread perfect for a savory sandwich or as a side with a bowl of soup.

Sourdough Baguette

The “purest” of our breads, Sourdough baguettes contain only three ingredients: flour, water and salt. Slightly tangy sourdough flavor, combined with a somewhat chewy crust and open crumb make this bread a perfect base for a hearty, yet light sandwich. It also goes well with a variety of cheeses and a good glass of wine.

Rosemary Olive

Our Rosemary-Olive Bread starts with a pure white Sourdough base: flour, water and a little bit of salt. After the dough has reached its full flavor potential, we add whole kalamata olives and fresh, chopped rosemary to it. The resulting bread has incredible aroma and taste, perfect with just a thick layer of butter, or as a base for an artisan sandwich.

Pizza Crusts

These 12-inch baked pizza crusts are all you need to re-create a wood-fired pizza experience right in your kitchen oven (or on your grill). They are ready to be covered with your favorite toppings and baked to perfection in roughly 10 minutes. Each heavy-duty freezer bag contains 2 crusts.

Sunflower-Oat Loaf

Definitely the hardiest bread in our lineup, this one is quite different: it contains no flour, but is instead comprised of a select variety of nuts and seeds. The texture has been describes as “similar to a large chewy granola bar”. This bread is sure to leave you full after just a couple of slices. As an added benefit, it’s packed with fiber, so you know it’s also “good for you”.

Our bread is only available during the winter season from:
November through April (starting November 2020).

It may be purchased at the Rochester Farmers Market during the winter season ONLY.
